The Big Day of the Cycling Community Is Back – KÉSZ Group Balatonfondo 2026!

In 2026, the KÉSZ Group Balatonfondo returns for the fourth time, once again welcoming cycling enthusiasts on its well-established and iconic date of 1 May. The event has grown into one of the most anticipated celebrations of the Hungarian cycling community: the breathtaking panoramas of the Balaton Uplands, professional route security and a unique atmosphere offer an unforgettable experience for every participant. Whether you are an enthusiastic amateur, a challenge-seeking road cyclist, an experienced Granfondo rider or one of the youngest talents, the KÉSZ Group Balatonfondo delivers a memorable, multi-generational experience.

In 2026, the organisers introduce exciting new developments. For the first time, participants can choose from three different distances – Piccolofondo, Mediofondo and Granfondo – ensuring everyone finds their ideal challenge. The Granfondo route will be completely redesigned, featuring longer, steeper and even more spectacular sections. Distance selection will also become more dynamic: at Tótvázsony, riders will decide which route to continue on, allowing everyone to choose based on their performance and condition on the day. Early registrants can again expect exclusive surprises, including the official 2026 Balatonfondo T-shirt.

Balatonfondo continues to honour the legacy of the 2022 Giro d’Italia Grande Partenza in Hungary. The event celebrates passion for sport, cycling culture and the strong sense of community inspired by the Giro’s Hungarian stages. The race centre will once again be in Balatonfüred, with routes leading through the most beautiful and iconic roads of the Balaton Uplands, supported by route safety, refreshment stations, chip timing and medical services.

The youngest riders are not forgotten: the Minifondo children’s race welcomes 5–14-year-old cyclists on a separate, safe course, with playful challenges and an unforgettable sense of achievement. The goal is to inspire a love of cycling from an early age and invite them into this special community celebration.
